Hey there, friend! It’s Maranda here, and I have a little confession to make, I’m a recovering beauty addict. Yep, you heard that right. Now, I know the word “addict” might make you think of something negative, but stick with me for a minute. My obsession was all about what I thought beauty meant, and I was willing to do just about anything to make sure I always looked beautiful on the outside. What I didn’t realize at the time was that true beauty is actually an inside job. So, what do I mean by that? Let me take you on a little journey, starting with how I got here.
I grew up in the South and back in the day, it was the land of Southern belles and beauty queens. I come from a long line of women who wouldn’t dream of stepping out the door without picture-perfect hair and lipstick that could rival any beauty pageant contestant. It was just the way things were, beauty was expected and your manners better always be picture-perfect too.
As a little girl, I loved playing dress-up and sneaking into my grandmother’s dresser, which was always full of powders, creams, and all sorts of magical beauty potions. I wanted to be picture-perfect too, just like the women in my family. As it turns out, that wasn’t in the cards for me. As a teenager and young adult, I struggled with severe acne, and it left me feeling scarred in more ways than one. I became shy, withdraw, and completely obsessed with trying to fix what I saw as flaws on the outside.
Over the years, I tried every facial, every cream, and every new beauty concept that came my way. I was on a mission to find that one perfect thing that would make me feel beautiful. Here’s the kicker… it wasn’t until much later in life that I finally realized the truth. Real beauty doesn’t come from a bottle. It comes from learning to love yourself, just as you are, inside and out.
Many decades later, I can finally say that my skin is glowing and for the first time, I feel truly confident in it. I’ve come to understand that beauty isn’t one-size-fits-all. It comes in all forms, shapes and sizes. That’s why I’m excited to start this series with you. My goal is to share not only some amazing products that have helped me discover my true beauty from within, but also to inspire you to love yourself and recognize the light and beauty that’s already inside you. My friend, YOU are BEAUTIFUL, and it’s time the world sees it too!
