You donโt have to earn rest. You deserve it.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said,
โLive in the sunshine. Swim in the sea. Drink in the wild air.โ
This season doesnโt have to be a performance.
Itโs okay to say no.
Itโs okay to unplug.
Itโs okay to let this be the summer where you slow down, protect your peace, and finally feel likeโฆ yourself again.
Hey sunshine โ summer is officially in full swing, and thereโs just something about this season that hits different. The long days, warm evenings, and golden glow on everything all give off those sweet, easy-living vibes.
But letโs be real โ lifeโs problems donโt stop just because the sunโs out.
Weโre still navigating modern tech overload, global unrest, family stress, personal pressure, and the mental chatter that sneaks up in quiet moments. Add in EMFs from every device, intense heat waves, and the social push to โmake memories,โ and suddenly summer doesnโt feel so light anymore.
Have you felt that?
So, how do you stay PRETTY โ and I mean pretty in every sense of the word โ when life feels a little too hot to handle?
Start with the sunshine.
We need it. It boosts mood, supports hormone health, and gives us that natural glow. Pro tip: early morning or golden hour in the evening is best for your skin and energy. Midday? Youโll catch me in the shade, under a wide-brimmed hat with a cool mocktail in hand.
Grounding is one of my go-to rituals โ standing barefoot in the grass, breathing deep, letting Mother Earth recalibrate me.
It sounds simple, but itโs powerful. Touching the earth brings instant nervous system relief. Peace lives there.
Now letโs talk sunglasses.
Yes, I love a luxury Tom Ford pair. But Target? Crushing it with affordable styles I donโt cry over when they disappear in the lake bag.
(Just remember, get a few minutes of sunlight without shades in the morning to help reset your circadian rhythm. After that? Glam it up.)
Swimwear? Same vibe.
Everything But Water always has gorgeous, confidence-boosting pieces. But Target again has been showing up with suits that are comfy, flattering, and easy on the wallet.
Shade is your skinโs best friend.
Iโve traded in my sun-worshipping days for breezy long sleeves, oversized hats, pretty umbrellas, and my favorite Corporate Hippie Connection mineral sunscreen. Itโs non-toxic, clean, and actually feels good on the skin.
Sun, on your own terms. Thatโs the new beauty.
Movement is medicine.
Whether itโs a walk at dusk, dancing barefoot in your kitchen, paddling a kayak, or stretching on your deck, let your body move. It doesnโt have to be a workout. Itโs about joy. Rhythm. Breath. Flow.
And finally, the big one: summer stress.
The season is stunning, but it doesnโt always feel relaxing. Between work, parenting, relationships, and the pressure to โdo it all,โ it can get heavy.
If youโre feeling it, pause.
Book that lake trip. Sneak away to the beach. Rent the cozy Airbnb.
If travel isnโt possible right now, find a pocket of presence. Visit a museum. Walk to a new coffee shop. Tour your town like a traveler.
You donโt need a flight to reset. You need space to just be.
Take breaks from your screens.
Drink more water.
Listen to high-frequency music.
Breathe.
Be still.
You donโt have to earn peace. You are worthy of it now.
Letโs keep July simple. Soulful. Beautiful in the ways that matter most.
Glow boldly. Live slowly. And never dim your shine.
Shine bright,
Maranda
