The Power of Letting Go

Spread the love

Welcome back to Pilates With Marilyn

My name is Marilyn Harder, pilates instructor, and pilates master trainer.

This is episode 8 of Season 2 of Pilates With Marilyn.

This week we are going to do a really yummy trigger point release. We are also going to talk about the power of letting go and how that serves you in your journey and your self love.

For this Trigger point release video, you’re going to need a trigger point ball. If you don’t have an actual trigger point release ball, you could grab a tennis ball, lacrosse ball, any sort of hard rubber ball, I’ve even had some make their own foil ball, so as long as you smooth the surfaces, it works. We’re also going to need a grid roller.

I prefer a grid roller with a hard plastic inside, verses a softer roller when we’re doing a full release.

If you don’t happen to have a grid roller or don’t have time to get one off amazon, you can make your own. You’ll need a hard metal water bottle, a bath towel and something to secure it with,

So you roll up the water bottle inside the towel and secure it with some rope, shoe laces, or rubber bands. That will serve you as a temporary grid roller to really enjoy the power of our release session.

I want to encourage you to join me, if you’ve never done a trigger point release class, there is just something amazing about letting go. Letting go of emotions we store in our feet, our hips, our shoulders. Letting go of the tight tension patterns of our repetitive daily activities such as sitting or rounding forward at the computer.

You can’t out strengthen a tight muscle, you con’t out chase it. You gotta release it. All of our fitness should be in partnership, strengthening and release, strengthening and release, just like life is enjoyment, release, life event, release day in and day out.

I encourage you to join me and as always, visit us on corporatehippieconnection.com for more lifestyle tips, tricks that will help you get into your body get into your life and start living the best life that god intended for you.

She has an advanced knowledge of kinesthetic movement that she acquired in her work with dysfunctional movement patterns in a 55 and older retirement community. Concurrently, she works as Bowenwork practitioner and a Restorative Wellness Practitioner both as additional modalities to troubleshoot healing and optimal wellness. She utilizes her education in all realms (psychology, movement, naturopathic health and nutrition) in her approach to beauty. What we put on and in our bodies matters but not nearly as much as HOW and WHY we do so. Marilyn approaches health and beauty through a triad -movement, nutrition and self care. Out of self care, self love is born. And out of self love authentic purpose, passion, and works are done. She believes that all pursuit of happiness and purpose begins by anchoring yourself spiritually and loving yourself through the eyes of God.
