| Purnima greetings! This beautiful full moon will culminate on February 16th at 8:56 am PST, making the evening of the 15th the night to see the moon at its fullest in the US. This full moon wraps up the Vedic Month of Magha, which is said to be a month where there is only a little bit of sunlight and a lot of holy days! Since the Vedic full moon is at just under 4 degrees Leo, and the difference between the Vedic and western zodiac is 24 degrees, this is one of those rare months that both systems will agree that the full moon is in the same place! Leo is a powerful sign- the symbology of the Lion speaks for its strength, boldness and leadership. There is also a creative and even dramatic flair that comes about through this sign. The full moon becomes ideal to express that bold lion energy. It is a very action oriented time, supporting creativity and going after what you want. Supported just opposite by the Sun and Jupiter in Aquarius, the sometime self centered energy of Leo is reminded to express outward and serve humanity in our own unique ways. Sun and Jupiter together are forward thinking and optimistic, and can give a strong sense of abundance that we are compelled to share with others in Aquarius. Sun in Aquarius also represents gathering, and annually when the Sun is in Aquarius the well known Kumbha Mela gathering in India occurs. On a personal level, Sun in Aquarius can be positive for both social and professional networking because of the expansive and connective quality of this conjunction. In other astrological news, Mars and Venus are within one degree of each other and will stay that way for almost a full month. While Mars and Venus as a combination can make a lot of creative and passionate energy, when they are too close they are considered at war with each other, which can make more volatility. They will stay together this closely until March 12th, and will follow each other from their present position in Sagittarius over to Capricorn. Though some placements of Mars and Venus will infuse you with energy, albeit a bit agitated, certain placements dependent on the chart will tend to cause more issue.
