Full Moon in Virgo

Spread the love

In this article I will talk about:

  • Full Moon in Virgo culminating on April 8th 8:04 am ISD (April 7th 7:34 pm PST)
  • Exalted Venus in Taurus with a Jupiter aspect
  • Saturn, Mars, Jupiter in Capricorn and the intensity it creates
  • Hanuman Jayanti
  • Akshaya Tritiya ‘The Ever Expanding Day’ April 25-26th

This full moon rises in the sign Virgo and the lunar house of Chitra on April 8th at 8:04 am IST (April 7th 7:34 pm PST).  The moon in Virgo is a intellectual and critical thinking position for the moon, and also a placement of service and healing.  Full moons are always a time where the energy is high and emotions are heightened, and a time for us to gather and feel connected.  Unfortunately though we may not be able to do that physically right now, I would encourage you to use this moon to enhance the sense of connection- whether it’s to family, friends, your Self, the elements- all can be points of connectivity, even the perceived ‘loneliness’ of singularity.  Since service and health and healing  are the biggest themes of the sign of Virgo this month’s cycle can encourage the question of ‘How can I be of service right now?’ Many may find that the quest for servitude will bring the connection that we are seeking and may be lacking at the moment. Mercury in Pisces directly opposite in its sign of debilitation suggest out of the box and non-linear ways of thinking and communication.  It is the time to bring our best selves and our unique gifts to the forefront, and of course focus on keeping healthy!

Things are looking heavy globally at the moment.  Saturn in its own sign and Mars exalted in Capricorn look like a lot of hard work and obstacles.  The combination of Saturn and Mars also lend to feeling frustrated, as Saturn slows down the dynamism of Mars’ energy.  This will be the prevalent theme through April, until Mars moves into Aquarius on May 4th.  Though Jupiter is also in the sign of Capricorn until the end of June, Jupiter is in its place of debilitation, its weakest placement.  This 3 planet conjunction is very strong and with mixed indications as well, but it certainly speaks to hard work, frustration, uncomfortability, and the need for patience.  There is an important theme happening about focusing in the present, as it is very difficult (even for astrologers!) to predict what will happen at the moment.  It has been said many times that the Jupiter Saturn conjunction in Capricorn (which is now until the end of June then again in November 2021 for a year) shows the Dharma of the world being at a low point.  We can hope and pray that as the darkness increases the energy of the Light will equally grow and expand.

On a lighter note, Venus will be in its own house in Taurus for the next few months.  Venus in Taurus suggests comfort, good food, art and beauty, particularly to the area of life that is represented by Taurus in your chart.  It is a faster moving transit than the outer planets and therefore in some ways less powerful, but does have the additional expansion of a Jupiter aspect.  Venus also stays in this sign longer than usual, until the beginning of August. This transit shows that amidst all this tension there most certainly is beauty in some area of life, we just have to find it.

This full moon is celebrated as Hanuman Jayanti, the birthday of the God of courage and bravery.  Jai Hanuman!

My readings are my service! Reach out if I can help in any way.  Do not let finances be the obstacle, we can work with that.

Mrinmoyee is in a long term love affair with Mother India, the land of her spiritual birth. She has lived primarily in India for the last 2 decades, and while she appreciates most all aspects of the culture, Vedic Astrology, Meditation, and Devotional pactices have been her primary focus.

Having grown up on the East coast of the United States, she deeply sees the need for the Vedic sciences in the modern Western life. She lived for 10 years in an Indian Buddhist spiritual community in North India where meditation and seva (service) were the foundations of her practice. Here she experienced the traditional teachings passed down through a lineage that is customary in India. As her interest in Vedic Astrology grew it took her to different regions and teachers of India and the US. She has studied Vedic Astrology for the last 10 years, and has given hundreds of readings to people all over the world in the last 5 years.

She offers introductory workshops on Vedic Astrology, and retreats in India. But the main focus of her work is personalized birth chart consultations. She has studied with both traditional and modern teachers, and gives a traditional analysis of the chart combined with a modern, applicable interpretation. While Vedic Astrology is Hindu in its origins, a person need not be following that path to benefit from her readings. Advice on career, relationships, finances, ideal living locations, and spirituality are just some of the areas of life that can be covered in a session.
