Spread the love

I have always felt complete after cleaning. I put my favorite playlist on and get into my zone.

I’m doing more deep cleaning now, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and my big time out. Doing more deep cleaning such as grout, baseboards, cleaning out every drawer closet, and cabinet. If you want to go deep, and want that release from what is holding you down or back, I highly suggest the Marie Kondo series on Netflix. Three episodes in and you will find yourself with a huge pile of clothing on your bed. Well, what I mean is, more like your whole closet in a pile and not just your clothing. I’m talking about everything, from hats, shoes, jewelry, scarves, and so on.

You know that dress strap you were going to fix three years ago but you didn’t? Now you know it’s time to let it go and think how refreshing that would be to say, thank you, but it’s time to part and wish it well. I’m letting these items go because most of this stuff doesn’t serve me any longer. I pick up everything now and ask myself, does it spark joy? If not, it goes in the giveaway pile. Yes, this is more of a project, but it’s still cleaning out. Since I started this process, I have to say I feel lighter and it brings harmony to my heart that I can release so easily now.

I have always gotten lost in my cleaning and I don’t stop until I get it done.

For me, I will start in the kitchen and work my way to the back of the house. I have this organized chaos in my head. I mean it’s normal for me to start there and the next thing you know, you’re putting away the tweezers that were left on the kitchen counter back in the bathroom then I start cleaning and organizing the drawer that it came out of in the first place. So if this is you, don’t beat yourself up. I for one go with my flow. Sometimes, I will get to the living room and decide to move the furniture around. It’s like I can feel the stagnant energy and as soon as I move stuff around it feels better, the energy starts to flow.

Let’s talk about stagnant energy for a minute. Basically, when you’re cleaning and disinfecting your house, you’re clearing that stuck energy. And that’s why it feels so good afterward. It’s my chance to also clear those piles of papers or clutter just sitting there. I sage each room and can feel the energy become lighter right away. When I touch pieces of furniture, I always give it gratitude and say, “Thank you for serving me and mine.” This keeps me in a constant state of gratitude.

What’s getting me through this pandemic? Cleaning, organizing, and projects, projects, projects. If you know me, I mean really know me, you would know I like my plate really full and for obvious reasons, my plate isn’t that full. It’s not that easy to go from full production filming my show, to a screeching halt. I have all this time on my hands now, so I have been diving in and completing all those tasks and projects I have put off.  But of course, I see so many new projects I want to do or create because I love DIY projects. Now, this is healing my soul. I love that instant gratification. One of our current projects include building the farm gates to protect the extra garden spaces we are creating.

I believe there are good and great days. The good days are my lower feeling days.

On those days, I find ways to push through the stagnancy by working on my breath and stretching. Meditation is a must in order for me to stay connected to my source, so I will meditate longer or simply find better feeling thoughts. I look around and whatever my eyes focus on, I give gratitude. For instance, I see my dogwood trees and I stop and say how blessed I am that the last owner planted those beautiful trees. Sometimes, I go deeper than that and send positive energy to the person who planted their love that me and mine get to enjoy. You never know what their lives are like at that moment and maybe they need some of that love back.

This time out has made me realize so much. I know the changes I want to make moving forward. I’m going deeper than I have ever gone before. I make sure I do my 108, “I love you”s to myself on a daily basis and send that love out to the world.

So you’re feeling down or incomplete? I highly suggest to put your favorite playlist on and lose yourself to the music, burn some incense and clean your house girl!

Talk about instant gratification.

You got this.

In a comfortable state of gratitude,
