Welcome back to Pilates With Marilyn
My name is Marilyn Harder, pilates instructor, and pilates master trainer.
Today we are going to explore connection with our body and movement both in freedom of mobility, checking in with our body for sticky and tight parts and learning how to stabilize certain areas and mobilize others.
What I love about this flow is that it’s all about staying in tune and staying connected with out body. Our thought topic today is body image resilience, we spend so much time objectifying our body, in our minds, in pictures, and if you’re thinking, “What do you mean, objectify?” Anytime you walk past a mirror and you subconsciously suck it in or stand a little taller, you are objectifying your own image.
How do we move past that as a human? How do we reach our body image resilience? In that we see our body as a tool, as a vehicle, as something we are experiencing life through rather than an ornament.
I am pulling topics from an amazing book that I have been reading and it’s called “Beauty Redefined” I am going to pull topics from their instagram posts and their book and if you have any interest here is a link to the book.
Body image resilience is more than body positivity, it’s body neutrality. How do we get past trying to use Self-love and getting out of negative headspace to just the freedom of life.
We are going to explore that with out movements today. I hope you enjoy the topic and I hope you enjoy the way your body feels when we are done
As always, thank you for supporting Pilates With Marilyn, Practice your self-care this week. Especially this flow, this topic.
