Full Moon Eclipse in Taurus

Spread the love

This Full Moon culminates on November 30th at 1:29 am PST in the sign of Taurus and the lunar house of Rohini, which puts the height of the eclipse in the middle of the night in the US. The Full Moon in Taurus conjoins Rahu, which is what causes the eclipse.

While eclipses are not indicated for worldly endeavors, it’s an ideal time for spiritual practice.  In India there are elaborate practices of fasting and mantras that are practiced in order to avoid the ‘polluting’ energy of the eclipse.  It is never recommended to look at the eclipse, as much as the mesmerizing energy of Rahu may entice us to do so!  It is said that anything that is done in the eclipse window is intensified 1000 or 10,000 times, so if you feel inclined to wake up and do some mantra or meditation it would be very beneficial.  This eclipse happens in the middle part of Taurus, so those with Taurus ascendent or important placements there will feel this this most.

Another eclipse will occur 15 days later on the new Moon, so this next two weeks is a sensitive time.

Be wary of new ideas that crop up now, and be aware not to make quick decisions.  When Rahu influences the Moon as it does in this eclipse we can tend to make quick rash decisions that are not fully thought through, as all sides of a situation may not be visible.

However, it does not necessarily mean don’t proceed at all. On the other hand, eclipses tend to bring out subconscious desires that need to be examined.  We must use our discrimination to determine what are the more meaningful lessons verses the exaggerated desires that present themselves during eclipse times.

This cycle of eclipses starts in Taurus

the sign that represents our creature comforts and the desire for stability, and completes in two weeks in the very last degrees of Scorpio, where change and transformation are the major themes.  This cycle becomes very potent to see through the desirous situations of Taurus that may arise during this time, and evolve them towards the letting go that is required on the next New Moon.

As far as eclipses go, this one is rather well supported, as the moon is in its comfortable exaltation in Taurus.  Still, when Rahu and the Moon get together we can experience anxiety and mental restlessness.  Rahu, the north node, tends to exaggerate and amplify all it connects with, and when it conjoins with the Moon, our planet of the mind, it creates fastness on the mind.  All there is to do is to meditate or breathe through the uncomfortable moments, as they may be frequent in the upcoming month!

There can be quite a bit of instability coming up in this month of December.  If you would like to discuss how this pertains personally to your life, be in touch to schedule a session.

Love and Blessings,

Mrinmoyee is in a long term love affair with Mother India, the land of her spiritual birth. She has lived primarily in India for the last 2 decades, and while she appreciates most all aspects of the culture, Vedic Astrology, Meditation, and Devotional pactices have been her primary focus.

Having grown up on the East coast of the United States, she deeply sees the need for the Vedic sciences in the modern Western life. She lived for 10 years in an Indian Buddhist spiritual community in North India where meditation and seva (service) were the foundations of her practice. Here she experienced the traditional teachings passed down through a lineage that is customary in India. As her interest in Vedic Astrology grew it took her to different regions and teachers of India and the US. She has studied Vedic Astrology for the last 10 years, and has given hundreds of readings to people all over the world in the last 5 years.

She offers introductory workshops on Vedic Astrology, and retreats in India. But the main focus of her work is personalized birth chart consultations. She has studied with both traditional and modern teachers, and gives a traditional analysis of the chart combined with a modern, applicable interpretation. While Vedic Astrology is Hindu in its origins, a person need not be following that path to benefit from her readings. Advice on career, relationships, finances, ideal living locations, and spirituality are just some of the areas of life that can be covered in a session.
