Spread the love

This full moon culminates on July 4th at 9:44 pm PDT, July 5th 10:14 am IST. This full moon is one of the most auspicious of the year! Today we celebrate all of our Gurus, our knowledge givers. The Guru is the one who gives us the highest wisdom of the light and the darkness, but it is important to acknowledge anyone who has illuminated our path on this day.

This full moon also completes an eclipse cycle of 3 full moons that began a month ago. We began this transformation in Scorpio, where all that is secret and hidden is called to transform. We are now experiencing this final eclipse in Sagittarius, where our belief systems and attachments to the past are questioned. For many this last month has been a metamorphosis, and we have had to sit with our discomfort and unknowing. In many spiritual traditions this is the greatest practice- to stay present and avoid our impulses to control and grab for false senses of security, represented by Scorpio. Today, on Guru Purnima, we look to shed those old beliefs and ways of being and are called forth to represent more of our authentic Self and what we want to create.

Although it is still an eclipse, which are considered an inauspicious and veiling event, the synchronicity with Guru Purnima and even American Independence Day speaks to creating new paradigms. We can simultaneously give thanks to those who have come before us and shown us the way while taking steps to move forward in greater awareness. This whole process of inner and outer unrest that many of us have faced these last few months speaks to the leveling up of our own consciousness that is required to propel new paradigms into being. Though Jupiter, our planet of wisdom and highest blessings, is caught up in this eclipse cycle and is still weak, His return to his own sign of Sagittarius indicates a return to the highest illuminated path that can strengthen us though these next few months till November.

As always, be cautious of an eclipse by not doing extreme actions or taking rash decisions. Sit back and count your blessings today, and those blessings will multiply through the Grace of all of those who have come before. Mercury remains retrograde on the eclipse axis and is aspected by Mars, so use more restraint and speech and leave extra time for errors in these next couple weeks.

I give thanks on this auspicious day to all those who have come before me and light my way. Jai Guru!

Love and Blessings,

Mrinmoyee is in a long term love affair with Mother India, the land of her spiritual birth. She has lived primarily in India for the last 2 decades, and while she appreciates most all aspects of the culture, Vedic Astrology, Meditation, and Devotional pactices have been her primary focus.

Having grown up on the East coast of the United States, she deeply sees the need for the Vedic sciences in the modern Western life. She lived for 10 years in an Indian Buddhist spiritual community in North India where meditation and seva (service) were the foundations of her practice. Here she experienced the traditional teachings passed down through a lineage that is customary in India. As her interest in Vedic Astrology grew it took her to different regions and teachers of India and the US. She has studied Vedic Astrology for the last 10 years, and has given hundreds of readings to people all over the world in the last 5 years.

She offers introductory workshops on Vedic Astrology, and retreats in India. But the main focus of her work is personalized birth chart consultations. She has studied with both traditional and modern teachers, and gives a traditional analysis of the chart combined with a modern, applicable interpretation. While Vedic Astrology is Hindu in its origins, a person need not be following that path to benefit from her readings. Advice on career, relationships, finances, ideal living locations, and spirituality are just some of the areas of life that can be covered in a session.
